Emilie Forteroche – Admin Monitoring

OpenClassroms project context :
I worked on updating the blog of Emilie Forteroche, a novelist, which had been developed using an MVC architecture. The website already allowed articles to be published and comments to be posted, but the administration area remained limited. The goal was to enhance the admin interface to give the author better visibility into her content performance and make user interaction management easier.

The blog did not include any article tracking tools in the admin area, which made it difficult to quickly identify the most viewed or most commented posts. In addition, deleting comments required direct intervention in the database, making moderation inconvenient. All of this had to be developed while staying faithful to the existing MVC architecture and without relying on third-party libraries.

I reviewed the existing codebase to understand its MVC structure, then developed the new features while respecting the established architecture.

More specifically, I:

• added a new administration page dedicated to article monitoring;
• displayed, for each article:
• • the title,
  • the number of views,
  • the number of comments,
  • the publication date;
• implemented ascending and descending sorting for each of these criteria;
• applied styling consistent with the visual identity of the existing website;
• added alternating row styles to improve table readability;
• developed a comment deletion system accessible when an administrator is logged in;
• kept the implementation simple and free of external dependencies.

The blog now has a more useful and user-friendly administration interface, allowing the author to monitor article activity and moderate comments without complex technical actions. This project allowed me to work on an existing codebase, strengthen my understanding of the MVC pattern, and add business-oriented features within an established architecture.
