OpenClassrooms project context :
As part of an exercise focused on object-oriented programming, I developed a PHP application that runs in the command line. The goal was to work with PHP in a non-web environment, allowing me to focus on business logic, object-oriented architecture, and code organization without the constraints of a graphical interface.
The project involved designing a simple yet robust tool capable of managing an address book directly from the terminal. Users needed to interact with the program through text-based commands, while the code had to be structured according to object-oriented programming principles. I also chose to go beyond the initial scope by adding extra usability and scalability features.
I designed an object-oriented PHP contact manager driven by commands entered in the terminal.
More specifically, I:
__toString() magic method; The application makes it possible to manage an address book smoothly directly from the terminal, with a complete command set and a more advanced object-oriented structure. This project helped me strengthen my PHP OOP skills, better understand CLI tool design, and integrate technical refinements that improve code maintainability.
